Guys, I "roasted" potatoes in my air fryer the other day, and I'll never roast potatoes in my oven ever again. This method is fool-proof. I know it's hardly a recipe, but I posted these on Instagram over the weekend and y'all seemed to really like them, so I figured I'd give them a quick shout out on here too!
The thing that's so wonderful about these spuds is that they can be paired with any meal of the day. I usually eat them in the morning alongside bacon and eggs, but I've also thrown them in with salads at lunchtime and alongside a steak at dinner. They make a great addition to weekly meal prep!
These air fried potatoes are definitely the easiest recipe I've posted, thus far. All you need is three ingredients you might already have on hand -russet potatoes, EVOO and Montreal steak seasoning! Make sure to check the ingredients in the seasoning. I found a Whole30 compliant steak seasoning at Aldi, but not all brands are compliant. Take note!
How to Make Whole30 Air Fryer "Roasted" Potatoes
To prepare these potatoes, simply cut each potato into eight equally sized pieces by quartering and then halving each spud. Next, in a large bowl, toss the spuds in EVOO and Montreal steak seasoning. For four potatoes, I used about a tablespoon of seasoning, but you can adjust the amount of seasoning to your own preference. I love A LOT of spice!
Once they're evenly coated, place them in the air fryer basket and manually set your fryer to 360 degrees for 20 minutes. After 10 minutes, remove the basket from the fryer, give the spuds a quick toss and return them to the fryer for another 10 minutes. That's all there is to it!
Potatoes on Whole30
My first round of Whole30 was back in the stone ages of Whole30 before potatoes were a compliant food. Now all varieties of the white potato are okay, except for store-bought potato chips and any variety of deep-fried spud. Air frying potatoes, as such, is a great way to incorporate white potatoes into your Whole 30 or Paleo lifestyle! I really can not get enough of my air fryer!
I hope you enjoy these spuds as much as I do! I know I've said this before, but I'm going to say it again - if you haven't invested in an air fryer yet, what in the heck are you waiting for?!
